Hire an apprentice and boost business

KTS can support you to recruit an apprentice through our tailored recruitment service. Upon successful recruitment we will support you to implement the apprentice standard with the apprentice to enable them to become a skilled member of your workforce.


At no cost to you, KTS can support you in developing a job description and advert for the vacancy.  We will advertise the post through the national ‘find an apprenticeship’ website, KTS website, social media and on our town centre premises. We can shortlist, carry out preliminary interviews and provide a shortlist of candidates with detailed notes to aid formal interviews.

How are apprentices funded?

An apprentice will be employed by the organisation – either as an apprentice on a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship or as an existing member of staff. All terms and conditions of employment will be met as usual. 

Apprenticeship Levy

We can help your business create and implement a successful Apprenticeship Levy Strategy to make the most of your levy contributions. 

The Levy applies to organisations with an annual payroll of over £3 million, regardless of whether they already employ apprentices or not.

It is payable by employers in the UK at a rate of 0.5% of the payroll cost, through PAYE alongside Income Tax and National Insurance

Non-levy paying employers

For non-levy paying employers the cost of training an apprentice is met primarily by the government with a 5% employer contribution required.
